I need the best and most accurate details of how, when,what to do, why, consequences of this virus. I have been with my partner for several years now and one of us has tested positive for HSV 2. I have been researching on line and everything I read is very difficult to understand, is there any simple way of understanding this disease. I would like some advise if any, or some really good links to read and a clinic where testing of this virus is Free. (Insurance reasons)

My friends baby has it & so does she (THe father cheated) Any ways, Devin (The Baby) several times now, has had his fingers in his mouth & then has touched my face (Mainly when I am holding him) & a few times into my mouth, What are, if any the chances that I may have caught the virus?
Also he did have the sores either before or just after it happened.

i have been getting cold sores since i was a child. I have 2 children and never had any complications. My husband and I have only been together for 3 years. I got pregnant and miscarried when I was 6 mths. I found out that the baby had the herpes simplex. how likely is it that I gave it 2 her & not him

this may be a stupid question, when i went to the bathroom but my penis foreskin touched the porcelain underneath the seat and it was pretty dirty and hairy, i guy also just used the bathroom before me, can i touch any virus like herpes or hepatitis?

i am a little paranoid about these things, i know i read that you can’t really catch anything from the seat but what about if the penis foreskin touched the dirty and hairy porcelain underneath it?

Affter brain surgery (at the base of the skull), I believe herpes simplex virus (HSV-1) was reactivated (even though the hospital never tested for it) for I had a stiff neck and couldn’t stand any light or sound and never fully recovered. I was given solu-medrol for the swelling.

It’s been over three years, with no improvement. Besides a lumbar puncture, is there a blood test that can detect the HSV-1 virus? Would acyclovir be the best thing for this?

My friend just gave birth to a baby who ended up back in the hospital the day after he went home. He had a rash and they are now treating him for the herpes virus. My friend and her husband are both negative for herpes virus but my friend tends to get a lot of coldsores….although she did not have any or definitely would not have kissed her son. She gave birth by c-section so the doctors are thinking more that someone (nurse, midwife, relative, etc.) kissed the baby and spread the virus.

I have a ten month old son myself and I definitely would not visit now until the baby’s treatment is finished. I have read some info on certain websites that say that my baby would always be at risk when playing with her son. They say that now the baby will always have the herpes virus although it might be dormant….and that it is a risk as kids share toys and put them in their mouth etc.

Does anyone know if my son would be safe? I am not willing to take a chance with his health but I don’t want to be paranoid either and not let our children play together.

Ever since I can remember, I have been prone to cold sores. When I was young I would get them about every month or so and I was a frequent nail biter which I was told caused some of this due to germs and dirt entering the mouth.

I no longer bite my nails, but I still get cold sores on a frequent basis, about every few months one will show up.

Does this mean that I am infected with the Herpes virus or is it just how my body reacts to germs entering the mouth every so often etc.
