Herpes Simplex Virus 1 & 2 HSV 1 & 2 . Can someone give me the best link or advice.?

I need the best and most accurate details of how, when,what to do, why, consequences of this virus. I have been with my partner for several years now and one of us has tested positive for HSV 2. I have been researching on line and everything I read is very difficult to understand, is there any simple way of understanding this disease.
