Could I have an infection from Oral from partners infected tooth?

Last weekend i received Oral for 3 days and started to feel pain after the first time. But just let my partner continue to do what he was doing because I figured he had just torn a little skin or was being a little too rough. I didn’t think much of it. Two days went by without us doing anything because he was aware of my pain and I felt extreme pressure. The third day I started to swell and have symptoms of like a yeast infection. Itching, burning, etc. He is completely free of any STD what so ever. But the doctor said the symptoms sound a little like Herpes. I find this completely impossible because he is free of anything like that. But the doctor still put me on Valtrex and its not doing anything for me. I highly doubt that is what it is. Results will be in Thursday or Friday. But i got to thinking my partner has an infected tooth and missed his appointment to get it removed before we did anything. Could the bacteria in his saliva have given me some sort of infection that could have symptoms of this Herpes???? Please help!
Lol… of course he brushes his teeth! Everybody gets infected teeth.
