i hadnt gotten this crusty outbreak for almost two years, and now i got it again.

its currently just sores.
is there something i can buy to get rid of it?

what can i do to make sure i dont have future outbreaks.

is having herpes on the lips considered really bad?
like as bad as genital herpes.

im only 13, so i dont know much about this kind of stuff.
its only on my lips though.
it hasnt spread to my skin ever.

about how long till it goes away?

I keep getting mixed answers when I try to google the question. It seems some people say YES herpes of the genitals can appear as a crater and then I see a lot that says herpes is on the surface on an inflamed base. I am just curious what a sore whether it be caused by strain 1 or 2 on the genitals would look like. I have had a bump appear in the exact same spot 2 times (7 months prior to this new one). I didnt even see the bump, I had shaved about 2 days prior and had a little stubble coming back in… I went to the restroom. I wiped and as I wiped I felt the bump almost on my pubic bone area, in the peak on the inner labia where the vaginal lips part (think an upside down V where the point is), it felt about pea sized at first and it was really hard to see at first, so it made me think it was beneath the skin. after playing inspector gadget and pulling on the skin the area did get redder and the bump was slightly larger. I was dumb and googled ingrown hairs and saw a lot of people attempt to pop the bump, so i was dumb (which i greatly emphasize) and squeezed it after a shower. When I did that a clearish to yellow oily liquid came out, very small amount, no blood, bo pus. After that it seemed to cause a break in the bump in multiple spots, it then did turn into what resembled either herpes or possible folliculitis. I looked both pics up and they look very similar. After that it did appear to have a whitish cover, similar to vesicles, those went away and I wouldnt say they erupted, there was no ooze and yes it looked wet but like any open wound it will have a wet look to it. (when i was younger i fell and ripped part of the skin off my palm, it too had a wet look to it) When I look up herpes photos the outbreaks appear to be above skin level , this bump did not, it appeared to be more like a hole in the skin and now as it heals, the raw area seems to be coming up to skin level. This is maybe 1-2mm. There has been no crusting or real oozing. The only real discomfort I have is when I initially sit down like the skin is being pulled in the wrong way or a ripping feeling is the best way to describe it. No burning, not even during urination . This is all very disturbing to me because I did have a culture done on the previous bump, they actually popped or broke the cover and got a large sample of fluid, the result was negative. The nurse said it did not look like a typical outbreak and that the sample was adequate. I was so happy and now I am scared all over again. When the first bump appeared i had not been sexually active for over 3 months and it too was after I had shaved and had a little regrowth coming in( this area never really feels smooth as I would like after shaving so it is fair to say I usually give it a coupld extra brushes with the razor than other areas), it was the same spot and only one bump. I really doubt it was from my former long term boyfriend that I had split from prior to the first bump, the only other intercourse I had if you can call it that was about 1 year before the first bump and I was not a willing participant. I had someone rape me while I was passed out at a party (I have since quit drinking) Any thoughts on this?

they said they didn’t have it than 3 or 4 days later i saw what looked like a cold sore in her upper lip. can i get it? if so how can i tell i have it before an outbreak?

Ok here’s my story sorry its so long but about 2 months ago feb 16 to be exact…. I madd out with 3 gurls I noe imma whore but no of them seemed to be dirty or nothing like that and none had any cold sores from wat I’ve seen plus 2 of them are clean I noe ….. the other one had a blood test and found out she had low white blood cells dats it well that’s wat she tole me….. I tend to lick my lips a lot and they became really red and sore I continuously put chapstick and it got a little better I juss had a sunburn about 4 days ago becuz it was reli hot out…… isn’t sunburn and stress a big cause of a herpes outbreak cuz its been 2 months and I haven’t gotten anycoldsores juss tendernes in my lips and slight burning of my vermillion border I think for the chapped lips……is it possible I can have herpes afta 2 months of possiblely becomeing exposed to it…..I also had a blood test about 2 and a half weeks afta I kissed her and it came bak negative for STD u can catch by kissing….also everytime I eat something after my lower lip becomes reli red like the skin unda my lip becomes reli red then goes away…..cud it be herpes or chapped lips remember I haven’t goten an outbreak and I stress a lot and I got a sunburn also I have there like 3 sooooo small black almost brown spots like dots reli on my top lip of the vermillion border they been there since the beginnging of januarty wat are they????

My boyfriend had a large, hard bump at the base of his penis. He went to the clinic and the doctor told him it was an ‘infected boil.’ It has since burst, but I’m a little skeptical about whether it was a boil or if he had a herpes outbreak. Am I being paranoid or should I be concerned?

I think I may be having an oncoming herpes outbreak because my inner rectum is itching sooooo BAD!! I was wondering if there is an ointment or cream that I can use to help calm the irritating itching. Thanks!

I have both - both itchy and painful. I haven’t had an outbreak for a VERY long time. I had shingles when I was 15 (a small patch on my stomach) and now it seems I might have them again. I have a small patch of liquid blisters on my very lower back (right hand side)… it accellerates faster than people say shingles does but the pain runs down my legs to my feet. This is uncommon with genetal herpes. I have heard of genetal herpes popping up around the thy and butt region. I’m a little confused. Can anyone help me out? Thank you!
Thanks for the answers guys I know shingles fairly well because it was very rare for me to have them in the first place. There isn’t much a dr can do but give you pain medication. Thanks again.

Treating skin for hair removal with laser can induce an outbreak episode of herpes simplex virus in the lip. I know that in some clinics, the nurse ask you to take an antiviral medicine one day before the treatment. Does anybody knows what medicine and what amout? I take daily suppressive pills yet I still have about one outbreak everyother week and it takes awhile to go away! Ive heard of things like lemon or grapefruit juice and zinc just need some more ideas. I know i have so many due to stress and my immune system suck regardless of the fact that I take daily vitamins. This is genital not oral btw.

For you all who has genital herpes and got your true first outbreak (means you didnt have HSV-1 and HSV-2 antibodies beforehand). How painful/severe was the symptom, how long, and what were the recurrences like? How long before the recurrences gets less? Did you have to be hospitalized/off from work?

I’m dating a girl with herpes and would like to know if I got it how it feels like……
